Montreal
There are a few stories behind how Montreal got its name.
One story says that it stems from Mont Royal. Another says
that King Franeois named it for Archbishop Monreale of Sicily
who persuaded the Pope to annul Spanish and Portuguese claims
in the New World, thus allowing the French to claim land.
The third story claims that one of Cartier's men (Cartier
was the first adventurer who discovered Montreal) was from
an area of France that was known for its fortresses name Montreal
that were elevated on cliffs and the area reminded him of
it. The true story may never be known.

Old Montreal
Old Montreal is one of the main attraction in Montreal, some
might find it too "touristy" but it is definitely
worth seeing for its narrow streets, old stone building ranging
from the 17th century to the 20th century. There are also
lot's of family activities in the old port.

Downtown (Centre-Ville)
Downtown is a very general name that is sometime interpreted
differently on the person you ask. In this guide, downtown
is the business and commercial district that is the core of
Montreal. It's where a lot of people work, shop and go out
at night.

The Underground City
The underground "city" is a part of downtown, it's
not really a city more like a district. Some may have an image
of all montrealers living underground during winters but the
underground city is mostly tunnels and walkways connecting
downtown shopping malls, metro stations, office buildings
and even some hotels. It's a great place to visit if you love
to shop and walk or if it's a rainy day.

Chinatown (quartier chinois)
Chinatown, like other chinatowns around the world, is where
you will find chinese and asian stores and restaurants, altough
you can find those in pretty much all the other districts
in Montreal. But chinatown has its own style that makes it
very unique.
Finally, you are recommended to Discover its diversity in
